In 2014, the series was sold to Chaossy. It was said in a press release by Chaossy that the series will take a serious turn, making it less comical than the previous season.
Squidward Tentacles is SpongeBob's next door neighbor and co-worker at the Krusty Krab, where he is the cashier. Squidward is a smart, artistic and somewhat sociopathic octopus. He hates SpongeBob and Patrick due to their childlike behavior, and openly displays his hatred towards them. Despite this, they are completely oblivious to his hatred of them. He believes he is an amazing artist and clarinet player, but quite the opposite in reality. SpongeBob is convinced that Squidward is a good-hearted person who loves to have fun, but just doesn't know it.
Annoyed that Patrick spends more time watching television then playing with his friends, SpongeBob suggests that Patrick should get a driver's license, after it was revoked in the episode, Driven to Tears. Patrick reluctantly agrees, but instead of heading to Mrs. Puff's Boating School, Patrick hotwires Squidward's boatmobile, and challenges other drivers to a race in the process. Distracted, Patrick crashes the boatmobile into a main cable television transmitter, knocking out reception for the entire city of Bikini Bottom. Once Patrick arrives at SpongeBob's house with the transmitter still attached to the car, SpongeBob becomes petrified and furious. Meanwhile, Plankton steals the satellite dish in a plan to create a weather control device capable of destroying the world's supply of Krabby Patty's.
SpongeBob SquarePants reserved a day at the Sand Mountain Ski Lodge for Squidward, whose birthday was coming up. SpongeBob and Patrick go to the Sand Mountain Ski Lodge to drop off the deposit check. However, once they arrive, Patrick manages to lose their reservation — a move Patrick immediately realizes will upset SpongeBob. Patrick lies to SpongeBob, claiming that Sand Mountain is an evil place, though SpongeBob does not believe his story. However, he decides to trust Patrick after he says he has already planned an extravagant party at 120 Conch Street. Patrick fails to put together a party in time for Squidward's birthday, finally rerouting a circus parade into SpongeBob's backyard, saving the day.
Bikini Bottom is in the grip of an unusual heat wave and, not having air conditioning, SpongeBob and his friends are suffering. SpongeBob learns of an upcoming pet show offering a top prize of $500, which he sees as the perfect way to be able to buy an air conditioner. He persuades a reluctant Gary to participate. Gary performs his tricks at the pet show. However, SpongeBob starts to teach Gary to act like the "good dog" and Gary finds this demeaning and becomes angry, so he refuses to "perpetuate the stereotype of the 'good snail' ", as well as SpongeBob saying he is embarrassed that Gary would not comply. Gary subsequently exits in a huff. SpongeBob and Gary continue to argue and soon enough, Gary gets arrested.
When Patrick Star attempts to apply for a job at Shady Shoals Rest Home, Patrick is denied, because he did not have a diploma and/or a degree, because he did not finish high school. After receiving psychiatric therapy from Gary, Patrick decides that he wants to go back and finish high school. SpongeBob SquarePants warns Patrick of this decision and beseeches him to be cautious, as high school can be treacherous. Patrick then proceeds to the Bikini Bottom High School, where sea creatures such as Pearl Krabs, Judy, and Octavius Rex attend.Meanwhile, at Goo Lagoon, Larry the Lobster faces a new threat to Bikini Bottoms community: Segar the Shark. In an attempt to get rid of him, Larry threatens the stubborn Segar to leave peacefully, before the BBPD comes and attacks. Segar refuses and continues to terrorize the citizens of Bikini Bottom, so Larry takes matters into his own hands and threatens Segar into a fight. Segar agrees.
The community of Bikini Bottom is attempting to construct a new recreational area in Jellyfish Fields. It seems like a pleasurable proposal; however, 30,500 acres (about 47 square miles) of natural land will be demolished, and the wildlife there will have to find a new habitat. SpongeBob SquarePants immediately speaks out against this proposal, but the community only laughs at him in contempt. SpongeBob attempts to rally up supporters for his decision, in which he does, with his only supporter being Patrick Star, who thinks SpongeBob is trying to form a street gang. SpongeBob gives himself the goal of contacting the mayor to converse the concern, and obliging him to sign the petition so no destruction will take place. However, after SpongeBob illegally tracks the mayor's location, SpongeBob's house is raided by the Bikini Bottom Police Department, who arrest Gary and accidently shoot Squidward in his leg.
SpongeBob SquarePants is taken to the Bikini Bottom Jail, where he is told why he is being held in custody, for an illegitimate conspiracy act against the townspeople and the mayor. After SpongeBob gets booked, he contacts Mr. Krabs, in hopes that he could get him a superb criminal defense attorney. The legal representative shows up, but to SpongeBob's surprise, the lawyer was Patrick Star.
After SpongeBob's house is vandalized, SpongeBob SquarePants attempts to contact Sandy Cheeks and ask if he could stay at her Treedome for some time. However, knowing that SpongeBob is a detrimental sea creature, Sandy denies his request. Just as SpongeBob is about to relinquish everything, Mt. Bikini Bottom erupted. All the citizens of Bikini Bottom instantaneously ran to the sanctuary, including SpongeBob SquarePants.
In the Industrial Park, a clamorous explosion occurs. After citizens report the incident immediately after, the police department shows up at the scene to find a genetically powered mutated blue-ringed octopus. Oblivious of the octopus's strength and abilities, the BBPD call the Sting Corporation, a scientific research organization who operates clandestinely in Nowhere. After examining and taking samples of the octopus's blood, the creature awakes irritably, and reveals his name to be Octoward.
Bikini Bottom is gradually starting to disintegrate. It's been a week since Squidward was last seen. Every since the Industrial Park was destroyed by Octoward, there has been major pollution, which ultimately lead to a hazardous epidemic known as the Toxin Virus. SpongeBob, who is now living in the Mermalair, is finally given his first task by Barnacle Boy.
SpongeBob SquarePants had been ordered by Barnacle Boy to recruit Jio, a daunting naïve greater amberjack. Jio has multiple anger issues, and his unique ability allows him to be as hyper-aggressive and brutal as possible.
Patrick and SpongeBob travel to a nearby gym, in an attempt to exercise. As soon as Patrick enters, he laughs in SpongeBob's face, saying that he would never work out. Patrick then leaves and gets a sandwich.
SpongeBob has an atrocious hallucination, after falling down his house stairs. Bikini Bottom has been destroyed by a tornado, and everybody is dead. As SpongeBob enters the wrecked Krusty Krab, SpongeBob is attacked by flying monkeys, cows, Grue's, and zombies. SpongeBob then wakes up back to reality.

SpongeBob and Patrick go to the Bikini Bottom Mall to see Santa Claus. The line is tremendously extensive, but just as they reach the front, Santa goes on a break. SpongeBob and Patrick incorrectly think that Santa has gone back to the North Pole, and the two run frantically back to Sandy Cheeks, a connoisseur scientist and inventor. They oblige and induce her to let them use her newly enhanced Matter Transporter (as seen in SquidBob TentaclePants). However, the transporter fails once again, but instead of SpongeBob and Patrick infusing with each other, they end up somewhere in Canada. They hitchhike with a trucker, but Patrick causes a traffic pileup by discharging a flare gun in the cab of the truck, which catches fire and explodes. SpongeBob becomes frustrated and continues to attempt to hitchhike but is unsuccessful. As SpongeBob and Patrick engage in an argument, a mythical sky god guides them to a nearby cabin, in which they spend the night. They then set out on foot the next morning. As the cold snow intensifies, they eventually reach a large gate, marked as the North Pole. Instead of a jolly Christmas atmosphere, however, they discover a dark, gloomy factory with a pale, sickly-looking Santa inside. Santa then takes the two on a tour of his factory, where they see that the elves and reindeer have become sick and tormented from having to meet the increasing demands of a growing human population. The elves have become horribly inbred because Santa only started out with a single family of elves and would require more and more each year, while the reindeer have glowing red eyes and have taken on the character of a pack of vicious wolves from eating the elves that wandered out into the snow to die. Santa suddenly collapses, and is too sick to deliver gifts. SpongeBob and Patrick agree to deliver the presents but during their first house visit, they are discovered by one of the home's occupants. This ends badly, with time wasted, the family beaten and tied up and the reindeer having eaten each other.
